About AlunaGeorge

Alunageorge are vocalist Aluna Francis and producer George Reid, who put electronic pop, 2-step garage and left-field R&B into the same songs. They met in 2009, when Reid remixed a track by Francis’ group My Toys Like Me, and arrived in 2011 on Sweet Recordings with the “Analyser”/“We Are Chosen” single. Remixes for Mirrors (“Into the Heart”) and Lana Del Rey (“Born to Die”) closed out that year. The more R&B-oriented “You Know You Like It” led a three-track EP of the same name for Tri Angle in June 2012, quickly followed by a remix of Florence + the Machine’s “Spectrum” and a vocal version of Rustie’s Glass Swords track “After Light.” “Your Drums, Your Love,” their Island debut, came in September 2012. Early the next year they assisted on Disclosure’s “White Noise” and released “Attracting Flies” ahead of their album Body Music, which Vagrant supported in the U.S. Within a year Island put out Body Music Remixed, with Kaytranada, Friendly Fires and Duke Dumont among the contributors, and DJ Snake later took “You Know You Like It” for a non-album remix that became the duo’s greatest stateside success. Between albums the pair turned up as guests on tracks by ZHU (“Automatic”), Jack Ü (“To Ü”), Kaytranada (“Together”) and Flume (“Innocence”). “I’m in Control,” featuring Popcaan, arrived in early 2016, the first of several singles leading to their guest-loaded second album, I Remember, that September. The singles “Last Kiss” and “Turn Up the Love” followed in 2017, and the tender ballad “Superior Emotions” came in September 2018, ahead of the Champagne Eyes EP later that fall.
