A few months ago Grimes released a track titled "Go" to mixed reviews. It was a track she originaly wrote for Rihanna but was later rejected by the pop star. While some enjoyed the track, several fans reached out and let her know they weren't happy with the direction her music was going in. "It upsets a lot of my fans, and I get why it upsets them. Everybody was like, 'Oh, Grimes is pandering to the radio,'" she said.

This led to Grimes deciding to scrap the new album and start over on her follow up to her 2012 debut "Visions".
