WE NEED NEW CONTRIBUTORS
Written by Matt Adler

We've come to the point, again, where we're in desperate need of some staff writers and contributors.
Both Josh and myself have relatively busy lives that are compounded by trying to keep up the day-to-day postings here at BIRP. We're not always around or available to hop online when a new song breaks because, well, we have jobs and sometimes I'm just annoyingly lazy.
That's where you come in. We're currently seeking to fill up a couple spots left vacant by people we never actually had all in an effort to up daily content over here at BIRP.
What are we looking for? Contributors. Preferably, we'd love to have help with daily new music postings --- someone who combs the bigger sites and PR releases/emails for the latest releases from 'established' artists. We'd also love to have someone who's into going through pages and pages of bandcamps, submission emails and soundcloud pages to find new discoveries. If you're interested in doing both and have that kind of time, then be our guest.
On top of all that, you're free to help and conduct any interviews or features you'd care to.
What can we offer? Exposure. We've been fortunate enough to accrue a fairly large outreach. Any material you write for the site will be shared with over 16k fans on Facebook and 5k followers on Twitter. That's all in conjunction with the thousands of RSS subscribers and the large amount of day-to-day foot traffic we get to our pages. If you're someone who is looking to build a resume or wants to have a bigger audience, please....use us as much as you can.
On top of the exposure your material will get, we can offer whatever press accreditation for shows, festivals and parties that are available to the site to you. That's free shit, man.
What can't we offer? Money. When you don't make any money off of a site, it's incredibly hard to physically pay your contributors. This is a labor of love and passion.
If all of the above is kosher with you, then feel free to hit us up at

using the subject "CONTRIBUTING TO BIRP" and include the following information:
- Any kind of list encompassing your favorites from 2011. Artist, albums, songs, etc.
- A handful of current artists/songs/albums you're into.
- Any previous material you've written for either your own site or other blogs/publications. If you don't have this, don't fret. Either make up a mock sample of something you'd want to write about or be a creative writing major and we don't ask you for any of this.
That's it. We're pretty lax around here. Just don't be a dick and we'll get along. All submissions/applications will be read, reviewed and replied to within a few days.
Again, send all submissions to
