With that being said, we're even happier when we get to premiere that material ourselves.  Such is the case today as we get to offer a first listen at his brand new track The Coyotes.

For those of you unfamiliar with is work, Mesita is the musical moniker of multi-instrumentalist and Colorado product James Cooley.  His sound is ever-evolving --- so much so that he makes it nearly impossible to pigeon-hole his music to one blanket genre.  In a landscape that sees so many one-man acts and bedroom-pop artists have their sound collapse on themselves like an aural supernova, Mesita seems to take the alternate route; using his propensity for delicately arranging the bevy of instruments at his disposal around his breathy timbre.  The music never lacks a necessary level of production nor is it ever faced with losing any of its humanity and personal attachment to overproduction.  His material has the ability to take on a life of their own which, after sinking into his lyrical prose, is a strong testament to the fantastic storytelling in his songs.  

On the new track The Coyotes, it's more of that same ingenuity.  Starting off with a haunting, plucked folk-esque intro, it quickly detours towards a more uptempo beat that gets braided with Cooley's sprawling vocal range and beautiful instrumentation.

The Coyotes is the plural sampling of The Coyote; his next release (due in 2012) and follow-up to this year's criminally underrated and equally amazing Here's to Nowhere.  Give The Coyotes a listen down below alongside another track he dropped last month.  Make sure you check out all things Mesita (facebook/twitter/bandcamp) and practically all of his public recorded material available for listen over at his soundcloud.
